Wildflower & Willpower

Welcome to the wildflower patch

· 1 min read

Hi. I’m Kat. I live on a small working farm with a rotating cast of animals who do not respect my energy levels, and I write about what it’s like to homestead with a body that doesn’t always cooperate — CRPS, autoimmune nonsense, celiac, the whole bingo card.

This is not a lifestyle blog. Nothing here is effortless, golden-hour, or sponsored by a tractor company. It’s the real version: what got done, what it cost, and what I’d do differently on a day with fewer spoons.

About that spoon count — every post has one, from 1 to 5. It’s the honest energy price tag of whatever the post is about. A 1-spoon project you can do from a chair on a bad day. A 5-spoon project needs a good day, a helper, and a recovery plan. There’s a longer explanation on the About page.

Around here you’ll find:

  • Low-Spoon Days — what still gets done when the body says no
  • Animal Care — the zoo, their opinions, and their care routines
  • Gluten-Free Kitchen — recipes that survived contact with reality
  • Garden & Grow — dirt therapy, raised beds, and strategic neglect
  • Real Talk — the chronic-illness posts, no varnish

Go meet the zoo. The guinea fowl will find you first — they find everyone first.

This post is a placeholder written for Kat to edit — make it yours.
